When the professor mentioned that part of the class work would included making a blog account. I was freaked out! I don't know much about computers and I am a terrible typer. Professor Crocker made everything easy to understand and enough time to complete the blog assignments. At first like I said, I was hesitate but then it turned out to be fun and easy. What I enjoyed most was having fellow class mates comment on our entries and reading theirs as well. Many of the blog entries were funny and interesting to read. After this semester I a little more confident in blogging and I am happy our professor introduced me to the experience.

Three Important People

Everyone has many important people in their lives and I choose my wife, my mom and my dog.
 My wife because as cheesy as this sounds but she is my greatest blessing I have ever received. I'm going to quote Al Green and use the just the beginning of one of his songs, "I can think of younger days when living my life was everything could want to do." Before her all I wanted to do is work and play. I had to goals or aspirations. When I met her you could say I finally stared living for someone else. She has helped realized my potential and she was the one who encouraged me to go back to school. I could go on with what else she has helped me through but I just want to mention the most recent which is school. She helps in revising essays and helps organize my schedule.
My second choice was my mother. Obviously because she has raised me and has always been there for me. She is a very strong upfront woman who has always spoke her mind and always would look for a better opportunity to support her family. The most important memory I can remember is when we lived in El Salvador. My dad was already in the US sending us money to go to the US. During that time the country was still in a civil war. I remember the rebels would go around kidnapping children to recruit into their army. If you refused they would kill you. One night they pass my town and they were kidnapping kids my mom and I were lock in our house hoping they would just pass by. We could hear them screaming to give up any avaible recruits and we just stayed quiet. All of a sudden a grenade is thrown into our and mom with an amazing reaction scooped me up and she ran out the house. Then BOOM! Half our house in gone. The rebels left and my mom just saved my life. My mother gave me life and has saved it.
  My third choice is not someone but I consider him as my son. My dog Rambo. I love my dog!! He is spoiled and pampered so much. I chose him because he always makes me smile. If I am having a bad day he can tell and jumps into my lap and licks me. He is protective of my family and barks only when we are annoyed by loud people or danger. It would be really hard to explain why unless you have a pet yourself. But I really believe Rambo can feel what I feel and knows exactly what to do cheer me up.
  Thoose are my three and I could talk about them forever. This was just a little bit about them.

Review of Restaurant

I decided to talk about Domincik's Italian restaurant in Oxnard. I went with my wife on Friday of last week around 6:30 PM. The parking area is behind the restaurant in the alley but there are sufficient spots. When you walk in, you can immediately smell the fresh baked bread which taste amazing. We are greeted immediately and since it was not that busy we were seated fast. Our waitress was really nice and gave us the menu and mention the specials and soups of the day. She asked for our drinks and quickly return with them and fresh bread and butter. We then look at the menu but I decided to get the special of stuffed chicken ravioli with alfredo sauce and my wife choose the lasagna. Our waitress took our order and our food did not take that long at all. We got refills immediately and more bread. The food was amazing. I loved the ravioli I tried the lasagna and my wife and I were really satisfied. The service was fast and great and would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Fast Food Nation

While reading Fast Food Nation, it has really made realized how these corporations only focus on money, money and money. They always want the cheapest possible way to produce a product fast and efficiently. So many events in the book that have stood out and have grossed me out. The slaughter houses and how most are run unsafely. How smaller farms are driven out by bigger farms to reduce competition. It is just unfair to farmers and consumers.
  I wish I could say I wont ever eat fast food again but I will admit it is fast and cheap. I definatly will shop smarter and will try to support local farms and buy meat from grain free ranges. I will try to inform my friends and family to read the book as well. So much informattion that has opened my eyes. There is one detail I clearly remember about eggs in the book on how half a million people get Salmonella and a couple or months back I did change from regular eggs to free range raised chickens. It just shows how cheaper and faster has made Americans sick. I hope quality returns for the consumers so we can all ea better and healthier. We have to do our part and look for safer and better foods.

Semester this year

  My semester this year is crazy. I'm taking 4 classes and I work over 35 hours a week. Monday to Thursday I have classes until 1 and I immediately get home eat something real quick. I take my dog and feed him lunch and I leave to work. I work everyday except Wednesday and Sunday. I always get to work on time but I never leave on time. I work at a Veterinary Hospital and we always have patients coming in and already have patients that need to be monitored. At work there is always something new and always something to do. It is exciting because I get to watch and help the Doctors with different procedures. I feels really good that we can help someones pet out and it does get depressing when a patient does not pull through. My classes this semester are demanding and I try to squeeze in my school work on most evenings and my two days off. I am married and I also need to spend time with my wife and help her out at home. I also do the laundry which it not hard since our washing machine and dryer do the work. I am in charge of our dog, Rambo. I take him for walks and feed him as well. I try to cook but I'm terrible at it. My wife is mostly in charge of meals. My brother lives with us and I try to help him with his school work to. Sometimes I do feel overwhelmed but I always remember that life is not easy and you have to work hard to achieve your dreams. That is my semester and schedule so far and I hope to complete all my tasks effeciently.

Lies and Truth

1. I went to Japan to buy a samurai sword.
2. I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
3. I drive a Nissan Skyline GTR.
4. I am a great surfer.
5. I have a pet tortoise.
6. I can eat a habenero pepper whole with no pain.

What I Did Saturday

I really didn't do anything Saturday. I worked a 10 hour shift at my job. We had only a few patients thats day. The best part was probably getting home and getting ready to go out. My wife was hungry and my brother had been bugging me to go to Johnny Rockets. So gave in and decided that dinner will be burgers. When we got there it was busy. We had to sit outside. My wife decided to order next door at Panera sandwiches while my brother and I ordered some delicous burgers. I was starving since I did not eat a lunch but the food was to much for me. My younger brother on the other hand devoured everthing he ordered. I should have ordered a heathier option like my wife. Real boring Saturday overall. That was probably the highlight of the day. Hopefully next Saturday is more eventful.
